Upon arrival at CancĂşn Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred
by shuttle to the nearby car rental office. After collecting your rental car,

The day begins barefoot on the Caribbean beach in Cancún – sand between your toes,
sea air on your skin and the sound of the waves welcoming you to Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.
Then head across Yucatán to the mysterious Maya site of Ek Balam, where intricate
reliefs and the majestic Acropolis pyramid rise from the surrounding jungle.
After exploring the ruins, cool off in a sacred cenote, reached on foot, by bicycle
or bicycle taxi. Crystal-clear, cool and wonderfully atmospheric, it is the perfect place for a refreshing swim.
In RĂo Lagartos, set out by boat through wildlife-rich lagoons, where flamingos,
crocodiles and shimmering salt flats accompany you to a traditional Maya mud bath.
Surrounded by the vast white landscape of the salt pans, it is a wonderfully unusual experience.
End the day in charming Valladolid, where brightly coloured colonial buildings,

Continue to Izamal, the radiant “Yellow City”. Its golden-yellow façades and the
magnificent Franciscan monastery of San Antonio de Padua, built over the foundations

Spend the evening surrounded by the colonial charm of MĂ©rida, with its magnificent
cathedral, elegant historic mansions and lively markets.

Today is all about discovering the spiritual and culinary world of the Maya.
In the morning, explore Uxmal, one of the most impressive Maya sites on the Yucatán
Peninsula. The Pyramid of the Magician rises 35 metres above the jungle, framed
by steep stairways and intricate masks of Chaac, the Maya rain god.
The magnificent Governor’s Palace and the many iguanas basking on the warm stones add to the atmosphere of this fascinating site.
Then comes a truly special encounter: welcome to a Maya family’s home!
Together, you will prepare a traditional lunch in an underground Pib earth oven.
Chopping, roasting and seasoning become part of a shared experience, accompanied
by stories, laughter and the warmth of genuine Maya hospitality.
For a sweet finale, visit a chocolate project and discover the ritual significance
of the cacao bean. Taste the sacred Maya drink and create your own chocolate in a hands-on workshop.
In the evening, return to Uxmal – this time as the sun begins to set.

Today’s route takes you from the hacienda country of Yucatán to the Gulf coast
and the colourful colonial city of Campeche.
Begin at a traditional Henequén hacienda, where the region’s former “green gold” –
the valuable agave fibre – is still part of the local heritage. Then glide by
boat through the mangroves of CelestĂşn, surrounded by flamingos, crocodiles and breathtaking tranquillity.
At lunchtime, enjoy freshly caught fish by the beach before continuing to BĂ©cal,
where you can discover the traditional craft of Jipi hats, woven by hand in the cool underground limestone caves.
A visit to an authentic Maya village and its colourful cemetery offers another
fascinating glimpse into local traditions. In the afternoon, arrive in Campeche,
where pastel-coloured colonial buildings, historic fortifications and a relaxed atmosphere await.

prepared traditional lunch, continue to Tulum – vibrant, creative and distinctly Caribbean.

In the morning, leave the Caribbean coast of Tulum behind and head south to colourful
Bacalar, famous for its spectacular Lagoon of Seven Colours. Whether on a boat
trip or simply floating through an ancient Maya canal, the interplay of sunlight,

Continue to the border at Chetumal, where you return your rental car and cross into Belize.
A representative of your Belizean car rental company will be waiting to hand over
your next vehicle, marking the start of the next chapter of your journey.
As you follow the Western Highway, pastel-coloured houses, lush greenery and wide-open
landscapes accompany you. Belize is English-speaking and distinctly Caribbean in
character – and, somewhat unusually, drives on the right, a legacy of vehicle imports following a devastating hurricane.
Tip for the journey: Stop at the beautifully designed Belize Zoo, a sanctuary for
rescued wildlife including jaguars, tapirs and parrots. It offers a wonderful
introduction to the country’s remarkable natural heritage.
With every kilometre, the landscape becomes greener and hillier, while the ancient Maya
heritage grows more tangible. By the afternoon, you arrive in San Ignacio, a lively

Today, the choice is yours: choose your adventure from legendary caves,
hidden Maya ruins, colourful butterflies or traditional cuisine. Several
options can also be combined, depending on your interests.
Option 1: Deep in the jungle lies the mystical Maya site of Caracol, far from the
usual tourist trails. Surrounded by moss, vines and the calls of howler monkeys,
the 43-metre-high Caana pyramid rises above the rainforest canopy. Enjoy a picnic
near a hidden waterfall, with the chance to cool off in a crystal-clear natural pool.
Option 2: Go even deeper – both underground and into the past – on a guided
Maya cave expedition. Underground rivers, glittering stalactites and ceremonial
remains such as pottery and human skulls reveal a world where myth and history intertwine. Whether swimming, climbing or paddling, you’ll be right in the heart of the adventure.
Option 3: At a butterfly farm, discover how tiny eggs transform into the spectacular

Option 1: Caracol - Hidden deep in the jungle lies the legendary Maya site of Caracol – wild, mysterious
and far from the crowds. The 43-metre-high Caana pyramid (“Sky Palace”) invites you
to climb to the top for sweeping views across the lush rainforest canopy.
Afterwards, enjoy a picnic by the waterfalls and cool off in natural rock pools – Maya-style.
Option 2: At St. Herman’s Cave Blue Hole National Park, float through caves and jungle waterways
on a river tube or explore the tropical forest on foot. For the ultimate adrenaline rush,
take on Central America’s longest zipline – 5 km of exhilarating flight across
12 platforms, soaring above the jungle canopy to the calls of tropical birds.

After a relaxed breakfast, make your way back towards Belize City. Here’s a hot
tip along the way: stop at Hot Mama’s, where Caribbean hot sauces are made,
tasted and served with a healthy dose of fun. A stroll through the chilli garden
fills the air with spicy aromas – and you may even find a little souvenir to take home.
At the airport, return your rental car before heading to the ferry terminal. From here,
a boat takes you across the turquoise Caribbean Sea in around 45 minutes to the laid-back island paradise of Caye Caulker.
On this tiny coral island, the motto is “Go Slow” – because life moves at a different
pace here. No cars, no rush, just sandy paths, bicycles, golf carts and that wonderful feeling of having truly arrived.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy: take a dip in the sea, relax with a drink at the
iconic Lazy Lizard, watch the sunset beneath the palms and savour fresh seafood for dinner – barefoot, naturally.

Back on board, the crew creates the perfect Caribbean atmosphere. Enjoy a freshly

Then it’s time to say goodbye. Take the ferry back to the mainland, accompanied
by the gentle rocking of the waves and the last rays of sunshine on your skin.
On arrival in Belize City, you will be met for your transfer to the airport.
As the lush landscapes slip past, look back on the days gone by: Maya temples
hidden in the jungle, the shimmering Lagoon of Bacalar, the fluttering wings of
