After landing in Belize City, your adventure begins: pick up your rental car and hit the road! Following the Western Highway, you travel through picturesque landscapes, passing colourful pastel-painted wooden houses on your way to San Ignacio – the tourist heart of Belize and the gateway to Maya ruins, mystical caves and exciting jungle adventures.
Along the way, a stop at the Belize Zoo is well worthwhile, where you can get up close to rescued animals such as jaguars and tapirs. Continue past green hills and orange plantations until San Ignacio welcomes you with its lively atmosphere – the perfect place to bring your first day to a relaxed close.

Begin the day with a hand-pulled ferry ride across the river to the majestic Maya archaeological site of Xunantunich. The impressive main pyramid towers above the surrounding landscape and offers spectacular views across Belize and Guatemala.
Continue to the Mennonite communities, where you gain an insight into the traditional way of life of these secluded communities. They live largely self-sufficiently, relying on their own agriculture and craftsmanship – a fascinating contrast to the rest of Belize’s diverse culture.
Next, a canoe trip into Barton Creek Cave awaits. Glide gently through the water and immerse yourself in the cave’s mystical world, surrounded by impressive rock formations and fascinating Maya artefacts.
The perfect finale to the day is a visit to a butterfly house, where you can admire the brilliant blue Morpho butterflies in all their splendour – a truly magical moment!

Today, an extraordinary adventure awaits: exploring Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM), a cave filled with Maya history and ancient mysteries. After a short hike through the jungle, together with a small international group, you reach the entrance to the cave, where you swim into the underworld of the Maya.
Inside, your guide leads you through fascinating limestone formations and narrow passages until you reach the sacred ceremonial area. Here, you can see ancient pottery fragments and the famous Crystal Maiden – the calcified skeleton of a ritual sacrifice, shimmering in the light thanks to deposits of calcite.
This unique excursion combines history, adventure and nature and is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular experiences Belize has to offer.

Bird lovers will also be in their element: on a guided tour, you may spot Keel-billed Toucans, hummingbirds, motmots and Scarlet Macaws in their natural habitat.

For an adrenaline rush, head to St. Herman’s Cave Blue Hole National Park. Float through caves
on an inner tube, hike along mysterious jungle trails or take photos of the brilliant blue Blue Hole.
Those looking for an extra thrill can experience Central America’s longest zipline – an exhilarating adventure with spectacular views.
Afterwards, embark on a spiritual journey through Belize’s rainforest. A shaman opens the experience
with a traditional cleansing ceremony designed to bring energy and nature into harmony. Afterwards,

At a Maya women’s cooperative, you experience music, dancing and the traditional preparation of tortillas up close. Feel the culture come alive and become part of the experience!
Afterwards, explore two fascinating Maya sites in southern Belize: Lubaantun, known for its precise stone architecture built without mortar, and Nim Li Punit, famous for its intricately carved stelae and spiritual atmosphere. A short but fascinating journey into the history of the Maya, deep in the rainforest.
To round off the day, you can visit a rum distillery. From the sugarcane fields to the finished bottle, discover how rum is produced – accompanied by the sweet aroma of fermentation and an exclusive tasting.

Placencia, a beautiful peninsula in southern Belize, offers golden sandy beaches and
crystal-clear waters – perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Dive into the fascinating
underwater world of the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef system in the world.
While snorkelling or diving, you can encounter a colourful variety of marine life.
Stroll along the colourful shops, sample local specialities or relax in the charming restaurants
and lively beach bars. Don’t miss the famous “Placencia Sidewalk”, one of the narrowest streets in the world.

After a relaxed breakfast, make your way back to Belize City. Along the way, take in the diverse landscapes and impressions of Belize one last time.
If you missed Hot Mama’s, this is your chance to stop at Marie Sharp’s Hot Sauce and dive into the flavours of Caribbean cuisine while sampling some of Belize’s famous hot sauces.
If time permits, you can also take a boat tour in search of wild ibises and gentle manatees. These fascinating animals have a unique adaptation: their molars are continuously replaced, allowing them to keep chewing throughout their lives.
Once you arrive in Belize City, return your rental car and transfer to the ferry terminal. After a 45-minute crossing, you reach the dreamy island of Caye Caulker.
Here, it’s time to embrace the island motto: “Go Slow”! Caye Caulker enchants with its laid-back atmosphere, colourful houses and car-free streets. Stroll barefoot through the sand, enjoy the Caribbean breeze and end the day with a sundowner at the Lazy Lizard Bar, followed by fresh seafood for dinner.

Start the day with a catamaran trip to the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral
reef system in the world. Snorkel at three different spots and encounter colourful parrotfish,
rays, barracudas and even nurse sharks! During the trip, the crew serves a delicious lunch and a refreshing tropical rum punch, accompanied by laid-back reggae rhythms.
The afternoon is free to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Caye Caulker. Here, life follows the motto:
“No shoes, no shirts, no problem.” Let your feet dangle in the water, enjoy a sundowner at one
of the colourful beach bars and watch the sun slowly disappear into the Caribbean Sea.

After one last morning on Caye Caulker, with the Caribbean breeze and turquoise waters,
it’s time to take the ferry back to the mainland. In Belize City, your transfer awaits
to take you to the airport, with one last glimpse of Belize’s lush green landscapes along the way.
As you travel, take a moment to look back on the past few days – mystical Maya ruins,
snorkelling with sharks, adventurous jungle experiences and pure relaxation on the island.
