After landing in Belize City, your adventure begins: pick up your rental car
and hit the road! Take the Western Highway through picturesque landscapes, passing
colourful pastel-painted wooden houses on your way to San Ignacio – Belize’s
tourist hub and gateway to Maya ruins, mystical caves and exciting jungle adventures.
Along the way, a stop at the Belize Zoo is well worth it, where you can get up close
to rescued animals such as jaguars and tapirs. Continue through green hills and orange
plantations until San Ignacio welcomes you with its lively atmosphere – the perfect
place to end your first day on a relaxed note.

A day trip to Caracol, the largest Maya site in Belize, takes you deep into the jungle.
Climb the impressive main pyramid Caana, accompanied by the calls of howler monkeys,
and enjoy sweeping views across the forest canopy.
After your visit, you can cool off at idyllic waterfalls and enjoy a picnic surrounded by nature.
Continue to the butterfly farm, where you can experience the fascinating life cycle of the dazzling blue morpho up close.
In the afternoon, discover traditional cuisine at a Maya cooperative and prepare delicious dishes together with your hosts.

Drive time: 4-5h, 250km
Start the day with a cave adventure, where you dive into the mysterious underworld of the Maya –
climbing, swimming or travelling by canoe. You then cross the Mopan River on a hand-operated ferry
and visit the magical Maya site of Xunantunich. The highlight is the 40-metre-high pyramid El Castillo, offering panoramic views all the way to Guatemala.
For an adrenaline rush, head to St. Herman’s Blue Hole National Park. Float through caves on an
inner tube, hike along mysterious trails or photograph the brilliantly blue Blue Hole.
Those who dare can experience the longest zipline in Central America – a thrilling adventure with spectacular views.
End the evening at your leisure – whether relaxing at your cosy nature lodge or strolling through the charming streets of San Ignacio.

After a relaxed breakfast, your day begins with the drive from San Ignacio back to Belize City.
Along the way, you can stop at Hot Mama’s, where you’ll get an insight into the production of
Belize’s famous hot sauces. During a tour of the chili garden, you can experience the spicy
charm of Caribbean cuisine up close and perhaps take home a bottle of sauce as a souvenir.
In Belize City, you return your rental car at the car rental office at the airport and are
transferred to the ferry terminal. From there, enjoy an approximately 45-minute ferry ride
across the turquoise waters directly to the dreamy little island of Caye Caulker.
Caye Caulker is paradise: this coral island, only 8 km long and 2 km wide, captivates with
its laid-back atmosphere and unique Caribbean flair. There are no cars here – instead,
you can get around leisurely on foot, by bicycle or by golf cart.
The island invites you to embrace the motto “Go Slow” and leave everyday life behind.

Start your day with a catamaran trip to the Belize Barrier Reef, the second-largest coral reef in the world.
Snorkel at three different spots and encounter parrotfish, rays, barracudas and even nurse sharks!
During the trip, the crew will spoil you with a delicious lunch and a tropical rum punch, accompanied by laid-back reggae rhythms.
In the afternoon, there is plenty of time to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of Caye Caulker.
Here, life follows the motto “No shoes, no shirts, no problem.” Let your feet dangle in the water,
enjoy a sundowner at one of the colourful beach bars and watch the sun slowly disappear into the sea.

After one last morning on Caye Caulker, with the Caribbean breeze and turquoise waters,
you take the ferry back to the mainland. In Belize City, your transfer awaits to take you
to the airport, with one final glimpse of the lush green landscape along the way.
During the journey, you can reflect on the past few days – mystical Maya ruins,
snorkelling with sharks, adventurous jungle experiences and pure relaxation on the island.
