Today you continue to La Paz, the gateway to the Sea of Cortez. Along the way,

Today’s route takes you from La Paz to the oldest settlement in Baja California:
Loreto, founded in 1697. The drive through the mighty Sierra de la Giganta offers
spectacular views of rugged rock formations, cactus-studded landscapes and endless horizons.
An optional detour takes you to Magdalena Bay, where, depending on the season,
you can watch grey whales, sample fresh oysters or explore the mangrove ecosystem on an eco-friendly boat trip.
Back on the road, you reach charming Loreto in the late afternoon. Unwind with a
stroll along the Malecón or visit Mission Nuestra Señora de Loreto, the “mother
mission” and starting point of the California mission chain.

On the way to Guerrero Negro, there are several fascinating detours to choose from.
The Tres VĂrgenes volcanoes, with their ancient lava flows, offer a glimpse into Baja’s
volcanic past, while Cueva El RatĂłn, high above the canyon landscape, rewards you with spectacular views and prehistoric rock art.
Your destination is a remote landscape of vast sand dunes and an important bird sanctuary,
steeped in the history of the whaling ship Black Warrior, which ran aground here in 1858.

From here, continue through the spectacular Valle de los Cirios, named after the

In the afternoon, arrive in the gently rolling Valle de Guadalupe, the heart
of Mexico’s wine country. Here, fine wines mature under the Mediterranean sun,
and every winery has its own story to tell.

Today is all about indulgence. In the Valle de Guadalupe, renowned wineries such

During winery tours, tastings and leisurely walks through the vineyards,
discover more about local grape varieties, the Mediterranean climate and the valley’s unique terroir.
But there is more to the valley than wine. The fragrant fields of Aires de
Lavanda lavender farm invite you to slow down and savour the atmosphere –

Here, street art, galleries, design shops and lively street-food stalls
